Bioprocess Product Management Seminar in Konstanz

On the 7th June Biopharm Services held our inaugural seminar in Konstanz 'Bioprocess Product management: building value in development & manufacturing'. Thank you to our clients, partners and sponsors Pall Life sciences and EMD Millipore.

Case study presentations included:

  • Magdalena Stepien, from Crucell, the Netherlands, on the use BioSolve to guide process development;
  • Jean-Marc Guillaume, from Sanofi Pasteur, France, on the use of BioSolve to develop business cases for when and where to work with given technologies, notably disposables;
  • Professor Nigel Titchener Hooker, head of biochemical engineering at University College London on the successful implementation of BioSolve in their teaching programmes. The ease of use of BioSolve Process allows students to focus on design and optimisation of processes, delivering more effective teaching;
  • Simone Klein, from Pall Life Sciences, explained how the Pall Cadence single-pass tangential flow filtration system has been modelled in BioSolve.

We were delighted with the positive feedback from the seminar and by popular request are planning another event next year.

BioSolve Case Studies Available Online

On the 22nd of June GE healthcare and GE Globalresearch presented the results of a peer reviewed lifecycle assessment of an entire monoclonal bulk antibody production process with comparison made of multi-use and single-use processes. The BioSolve platform was used to generate the data used for this assessment. Visit www.biopharmservices.com for a selection of BioSolve case studies.

BioSolve Process For Rapid Analysis of Technology and Process Options

Modular Training for the Bioprocess Industries (MBI®) at UCL Adopts BioSolve

The MBI® programme run by the Department of Biochemical Engineering at University College London has successfully implemented BioSolve Process in two of their recent MBI® industrial teaching programme. The courses, "Effective Biopharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing" (May 9-11) and "Bioprocess Facility Design" (June 20-23), were attended by delegates from the bioprocess industries, research and academic organisations.

Biopharm Services facilitated training sessions where participants used BioSolve to model processes for the production of a Tuberculosis vaccine and analyse the economic and manufacturing impact of different technology, process or production/demand scenarios. The speed at which a process can be defined in BioSolve made it particularly useful to the course.

Share the experience! BioSolve community webinars coming soon ...

From the end of October we will be starting a series of webinars for registered BioSolve users. Focusing on case studies, showcasing new technologies and masterclasses on some key functionality, the webinars will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences allowing you to get the most out of BioSolve.

Let us know what topics you are interested in and whether you would like to share a case study. To join your fellow BioSolve community users register your interest here.

BioSolve Process v3.0 Coming Soon!

We are pleased to inform our BioSolve user community that based on the recent user survey, development work for the planned release of BioSolve v3.0 this autumn has commenced.

Popular features requested by the user base includes capital charge estimation for facility retrofit, flexibility in defining consumable re-use and equipment allocation, and multi-variable sensitivity analysis. BioSolve application notes on key template unit operations such as multi-product facilities, capital estimate,  perfusion and  continuous chromatography are now available  to support our  BioSolve clients.
